Rogue folders at root - still happening with Version 5.22

Hi, unfortunately I am having this issue again.

Two PCs synced to the same Google Drive account are both showing rogue folders at root in the Windows directory.

Both running 5.22, with "Sync hidden Google folders" option deselected.

No such rogue folders are appearing in Google Drive online.

I have emailed log files and screen shots.

Looking through the log file, there are plenty of log entries reading along the lines of "4/05/2013 8:36:00 AM(ver. 5.22) Google deleted folder but moved contents to root, for:"....

For the few I checked, these log entries correspond to the rogue folders that are appearing at root.

Help!

Hi NickA,
We got the log and will look at it again. I've also escalated the bug at Google. They are treating it as a High priority defect, so hopefully it is fixed soon at the source without the need for Syncdocs workarounds.

Honestly, it is hard to guess Google's response. We logged it in January. I have spoken to them about it via other channels, recently, too, and there many threads on Google's own forums about it.

While there may well be a Google bug that is the root cause of the issue, I notice that the native Google Drive app doesn't seem to cause the same duplication-at-root problem.

Which makes me believe that it is at least possible to work around the issue.

I also notice that Google were made aware of a duplication issue more than a year ago and they are yet to fully address it.

Given the uncertain timing as to when Google may deal with the issue, what is the prospect/timing of a robust and effective solution to the issue coming via an update of Syncdocs?

I am currently marketing Google Apps to a number of clients, and at the moment I am forced to propose an alternative cloud storage solution that doesn't involve Google Drive or Syncdocs.

I would love to be able to propose Google Drive/Syncdocs, but couldn't even consider it while there is the prospect of my clients suddenly seeing rogue folders appearing for no apparent reason.

Any progress on this?

In frustration, I have gone back to the native Google Drive application.

I have to say - for all its shortcomings, it hasn't once created a rogue folder in the last month and syncs quickly and reliably, with only minimal intervention required from me.

How is that the Google Drive application doesn't have this problem but Syncdocs does?

The Google Drive app does not sync hidden folders, so it will not see these folders on Google. You can turn off this option in Syncdocs to make it work the same, but these folders will then not be synced.

CLEARLY, Google Drive does not have this issue whereas Syncdocs does (even when sync hidden folders is switch off)

Honestly, do you even take this seriously as being an issue with Syncdocs?

Just tell me if you don't, as at least I won't have to bother persevering trying to get Syncdocs to work or sending logs and screenshots etc.
