I've set syncdocs to convert files to Google Docs format which works great for Office files but not PDF files... Google converts them to Docs which doesn't work with PDF files that are image based. Is it possible to exclude PDF files from converting to Docs format?

SyncdocsThis is new behavior from the Google server. Pdfs should stay as they are, despite conversion settings.
We have bypassed this bug in the latest beta, which you can download from here:
http://www.syncdocs.com/downloads/SyncdocsBeta.msiPdf file will not convert to Google Docs, unless the setting "ForcePDFToDoc" is set to true in the appsettings.xml file.

I also noticed that if you upload in Google Drive from Firefox with "Convert uploaded files to google docs editor format" option ON, the extension of the original files are not kept (contrarily if you upload them from syndocs with the option to convert to Office file ON).
Example: test.txt becomes "test" in a google doc format.

SyncdocsI ran some tests and can still convert pdf files to Google Docs format. As well as "ForcePDFToDoc" you'll also need to check the option "Convert Office files to Google Docs on upload" in the Files tab in Syncdocs Preferences.
Bear in mind that Google's pdf to doc conversion can lose a lot of formatting. Also Google might throttle your uploads if you upload and convert a lot of files as it uses their cloud compute resources. If you have a paid account, the threshold for this throttling is higher.

Edited the <ForcePDFToDoc> to true in appsettings file.
Uploaded some PDF files to gDrive, see files not converted.
Checked again the appsettings file, the <ForcePDFToDoc> is changed back to False.Am I supposed to change the appsetting file or somewhere else?
or will it work with "Registered" version?Thanks.

SyncdocsYou'll need to exit Syncdocs before editing the xml settings file.
Otherwise it will re-write it on exit or settings change.Send me your email address to contact-syncdocs@syncdocs.com and I'll extend your trial period. The trial version works exactly the same as the registered version when in the trial period.
