I have setup Syncdocs and it works great. However. I have 500GB of storage of google and would like to be able to use it as a virtual disk and not have it take of local disk storage. Is that possible?
Noobie Question - is there any way not to take up local disk space?

No, sorry, Syncdocs cannot mount it as a virtual disk without mirroring files locally yet.

EDIT: there will be some ways to use LESS disk space in the next version, but not no disk space at all.

does "not yet" gives any hope? :)
It would be very good for me to have the mapped drive as a read-only drive from which to download files selectively, using the standard file system instead than google docs web interface.
Just like when you mount some ftp drives in the file system.
Not only to save disk space, but also bandwidth and time. This is a feature request/suggestion :-)
Thank you.Posted 14 years ago #
