I see that "SyncDocs provides a simple point-and-click drag-and-drop HTTP server". Whats this "point and click" <<>>"drag and drop" jargon mean then?
My local Open Office odt files were not synced (backed up to) to G-Docs upon installation of syncdocs. All I have is is a google docs folder with its individual folders/files.

Hi,
That jargon is not from our documentation. We do not have an HTTP server.
If you put your Open Office files in your "My Google Docs" folder or G-Drive, then Syncdocs will copy them to Google Docs.

Had the impression >>perhaps my wishful thinking >>> that there was some sort of syncdocs automatic backup feature to enable me to "put" my open office .odt (like .doc) files into "My Google Docs" folder so that "Syncdocs will copy them to Google Docs.".
Can this be done?

@Phil I dont know what Syncdocs folder you are referring to in option one (1). Maybe you mean the "My Google Docs" folder? Please enlighten me further on option 2, like what "existing folder" are you speaking about and how to tell Syncdocs to only sync Open Office .odt files.Appreciated!

Maybe I solved my (perhaps perceived) problem!?? Need to know this: Is the "My Google docs" folder (that solely SyncDocs appears to have created upon my installation of syncdocs), a folder into which I can Backup existing files and/or folders installed elsewhere on my computer via a third party files backup utility? e.g. Comodo backup.

That's my approach. i have a folder "Working Docs Folder" which is where I save and actually use by docs while working. At the end of the day i use Allwaysync to transfer any changed, new or deletion files over "My google docs" folder. Currently (for safety) i have allway sync do a 1 way sync TO the google docs folder.

Results: Comodo backup took my Open Office .odt (source document files) to the syncdoc's "My Google Docs" (comodo destination file) without a hitch. Worked great!! Then syncdoc synced these files with google docs online which also worked perfect. An automatically scheduled (comodo scheduled) backup to the google doc's cloud storage!! 25 cents/GB storage cost is all. Cannot complain much about this positive scenario!
