I have been using Syncdocs version 3.12 for a few months with little to no problems. I have Syncdocs working in the background from startup to sync 5 select folders to Google Docs. Yesterday while working on an Excel spreadsheet I noticed a number of files being transferred to the recycle bin in the background, and the Syndocs Tray Icon opening and closing in the tray. The end result was that somehow SyncDocs deleted all of the files in the folders set up to sync! Fortunately I did not have auto delete setup in my trash folder. The I'm glad the files still exist, but the complete folder file structure is completely gone. Files associated with folders are no longer within the folders so I will manually have to drag thousands of these files out of my trash folder and recreate my file structure. I have rebooted and allowed time for Syndocs to try to correct with no avail. Anyone have any idea how this happened, and if there is a remedy? Needless to say I have turned Syncdocs off for now.

Did you have "Enable Google version history for all file types" ticked? (on 'Files' tab under Syncdoc Preferences)
I unticked this and found that Syncdocs would delete files locally on one sync, and then re-download them from Google Docs on a subsequent sync - not good.
(Also, I use iDrive [www.idrive.com] as a separate nightly backup service, independent of Syncdocs - if the worst comes to the worst I can restore the entire file structure from the previous evening. Cost is modest considering the additional security it provides - I know this doesn't help you at all now but would recommend it going forward).

Thanks very much Nick
I do have "Enable Google version history for all file types" checked.
Similar to your experience when the files disappeared I had hoped to see them reappear on the next reboot of the laptop and sync, but it didn't happen.
I appreciate the suggestion for iDrive. I wanted to do a service like that, but feared it may cause a application conflict seeing Syncdocs was on board doing similar background work with files. I'll try the iDrive after it takes me about a week to re-constitute the my file structure.

You should be able to reverse the deletions by undoing the deletion either in Google Drive's bin or your local Recycle Bin.
Do you know if you are the only person who has access to your files, is it possible that another shared user deleted these files?

No one else uses the computer Phil.
I checked the computer and the G Drive is no longer present. There are files located in the "My Google Docs" Folder under My Documents but they are dated and do not reflect the mass deleted files in my recycle bin.
If I undo the deletions from the recycle bin is that accomplished by "Restore all items" at the top of the window?
Thanks Phil

It might be worth checking the security of your Google account, as Syncdocs only deletes files when told to do so by Google, and it verifies if the file is still deleted on Google by checking each file before actually recycling it.
You can restore the items in your recycle bin to recover deletions. You can restore the top-level folders locally, or you can do it online and let the changes sync back.

I do not think it was a security issue primarily because no other files from my other synced computer were affected. It does seem that Syncdocs was somehow involved in the mass deletion. I have never had any issues with Syncdocs which makes this even more unusual.
I restored top level folders locally. It appears a number of files in the sub folders have been lost permanently. Because it involves thousands of files I will weed through and see if maybe they exist somewhere else. I appreciate your assistance...thanks.
