Version 0.30 is out. The following issues have been fixed.
- settings were sometimes not being saved with certain proxy settings.
- in accounts with no documents to sync, a GUI cross thread error was fixed.
- setup did not delete all of its temporary files.
- GUI looks better for netbook users with screens less than 550 pixels high.
Thanks to everyone who helped by reporting these.

Your old version should ask if you want to update in the next few days, if you want the fixes now, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Check for Updates

Version 0.35 is out.
Here's what is fixed:
- Automatic updater did not restart Syncdocs
- Existing Google Docs and Preferences set to "do not convert" can cause endless sync loop or duplication of files online.
- "Show markup in Word" setting not remembered
- .pdf files without extensions online and with extensions locally sometime duplicated online with extensions.

Minor new features:
- If Syncdocs set to not convert, but online docs converted using the browser upload, then a local copy is updated, and the local update would not convert. Now an now update keeps the file on google in its original format.
- Install gives user option of converting to Google or leaving as native.

A big thanks to everyone who reported bugs, especially Sam and Daniel.

0.36 Release notes
The following issues have been fixed:
- Free Apps accounts issues with cookies and direct uploads fixed. This did not affect gmail or Premium Apps accounts.
- Syncdocs is default office suite at install only if MS Office is not installed.
- Fixed desktop shortcut removal.
- Better error reporting on uploads errors
- Resumable uploads now default on Premium accounts too.
- Fixed 0 byte files - don't try to upload these anymore, as Google support inconsistent.
- Transparent support for user renaming or deleting of a file while uploading it.
- Multiple concurrent users on the same PC now supported.
- Free account support for two factor (SMS) authentication removed because of Google issue. Premium account support for 2 step authentication works fine.

You can download and upgrade install to the new version, or do an automatic upgrade by:
right click on syncdocs taskbar icon, Preferences Menu -> Advanced -> Check for updates

0.37 is out.

Release notes:

Mainly small interface improvements, and bug fixes for the following:

- some special cases where two pdf files were uploaded with and without extensions, but otherwise the same would cause a sync loop.
- at install the detault directory was created whether it was used or not.
- multiple concurrent users on 64bit Windows works now
- sync speed improvements, especially for users with more than 3000 files. More to come next week.
- A tweak for a user that upgrades from free to premium accounts while Syncdocs is active.

Other small fixes like more verbose errors and better control on stop/pause.

Hi all,

There's a new version out:

0.38 Release notes
- Performance is much faster, especially noticable for users with many thousands of files.
- Folder tree view on new Google Docs interface now looks correct when tree is uploaded.
- Syncdocs retries if Google server rejects a file.
- SSL encryption now enabled on all traffic by default.
- Fixed bug where certain types of .pdf files caused duplicates on Google.
- command line option "syncdocs.exe -OnlyRunSyncOnce", exits syncdocs after one sync cycle for scheduled backup users.
- local files of 0bytes no longer cause endless sync cycles.

As usual, your old version should ask if you want to update in the next few days, if you want the fixes now, go to Syncdocs Preferences -> Advanced -> Check for Updates
If Syncdocs doesn't restart after the update, run it from the start menu or desktop icon.

- sleep/hibernate/resume handling
- ability to wipe the Trash (in Syncdocs taskbar, free space menu, "Wipe Trash")
- fix for 3x duplicate pdf files on Google with no .pdf extension causing sync loops.
- speed and responsiveness improvements.

As usual, your old version should ask if you want to update in the next few days, if you want the fixes now, go to Syncdocs Preferences -> Advanced -> "Check for Updates"

There's a new version of Syncdocs out. These are mainly bug fixes.

0.41 Release notes
- fix for sync loops and duplicate files
- fix for handling bad filenames and paths
- fix for expired SSL sessions
- fix for error handler window underneath other windows
- better support for free Google Apps accounts
- many other small bug fixes and enhancements

Syncdocs should update automatically in the next few days.
If you want the fixes now, go to Syncdocs Preferences -> Advanced -> "Check for Updates". You might need to re-run Syncdocs after updating if it does not auto-restart.

Thanks to everyone for their bug reports and suggestions.

We've just released a new version (0.43) of Syncdocs.

There are many fixes:
- Better error handling and display
- Fix for google server 'reject' on free apps accts (thanks Maarten)
- Fix for bad networks and rotating proxy servers
- Added proper support for 0 byte files
- Fix for some sync loops
- Fix for four or more PCs all syncing to the same Google acct concurrently
- Handled Word merge failures more elegantly
- Fix for duplicate files created when duplicate files have both Office 2003 and 2007/2010 extensions
- Fix for Office files without extensions
- Automatic updater auto-restart issue fixed
- Speedup by about 20%
- Many other minor fixes and tweaks.

As usual, your old version should ask if you want to update in the next few days, if you want the fixes now, go to Syncdocs Preferences -> Advanced -> "Check for Updates"

If Syncdocs doesn't restart after the update, run it from the start menu or desktop icon. This should be the last time it doesn't automatically restart. This bug is now fixed.

Version 0.44 is out. Some minor bug fixes and major speedups. The details:

Fixed:
1. Better local path error handling:
- user warned if Windows max path length of 269 characters exceeded or if access permissions denied
- shortcuts, directory junctions and soft symbolic links allowed, but not followed
2. Improved error handling for Writely authentication errors

Improved:
1. Multiple account folder setup user interface better.
2. Syncdocs now much faster, especially with tens of thousands of files and folders. Only 5% of CPU use of version 0.36

Automatic updates will happen in the next few days, or you can follow the instructions in the post above this one for immediate updates.

Trying 0.44 with a fresh gdocs folder on my PC and a gdocs online with a couple of files, I still am getting error notices below. I tested SD with a few files put into my PC folder, and SD uploaded them, then deleted them and SD put them into my online Trash (I would prefer they just be wiped, in case I have hundreds to delete, which presents known problems to GApps).

I have exited SyncDocs before loading up a few thousand files.

No, I found out that all the files I had in my gdocs PC folder were deleted by SD. I did not touch them to give them current dates. How can "new" files be dropped in without giving them false date stamps?

The date stamps are set by Google by the time of upload. You can force a clean resync by clicking on Reset to Default settings button in the Syncdocs Preferences -> Advanced tab.
Google times can't be changed, unfortunately. There are quite a few requests for this on the Google forums, so it may happen one day.

has been around a long time. Does it really mean what it says:
"uploading of big files and non-Google filetypes will be disabled."
