I'm a noob here, and am transitioning my documents from SugarSync to Google Docs using Syncdocs as the medium.
So I've spent the last few days getting my docs backed up and secure. I had accomplished all of this this morning, I thought. The local folder is located on the hard drive of this machine (along with two other machines).
However, when I opened up an unrelated Jump Drive -- which has a different drive letter altogether and is definitely NOT the sync folder for my Google Docs, I found that everything on the drive had been deleted and replaced with the synced docs.
In essence, it appears that SyncDocs created a duplicate of my local folder (on the machine) on my jump drive, and unless I am an even bigger scheisskopf than I had thought, I definitely did not authorize this.
Even worse, when I deleted all the synced docs on my jump drive in a rage, naturally, because it is a synced folder, SyncDocs proceeded to delete all of my painstakingly uploaded files in both the correctly authorized local folder (on the machine) and online
Which means I have to do the upload all over again, but I don't even know how to avoid this error so as to prevent it again. And the final piece de resistance is that Google Docs apparently is not recognizing all of the reclaimed storage I've gotten back because of the automatic deletion of all the synced docs, which means I've now lost storage space.
What a giant cluster!@#$.
Any help would be most appreciated.
