We are happy to announce the latest version of Syncdocs, version 6.951. This is a minor update.
- The release contains some minor fixes to stay compatible with the the latest Windows 10 release, and high DPI touch screens.
- IT also contains the latest Google Drive API to stay compatible and secure with Google’s updates to Drive, security and Photos.
This is the last maintenance release of the 6.x series. We will be releasing Syncdocs 7 soon. Syncdocs 7 will require .NET 4.5 due to Google TLS security improvements. These crypto libraries are no in .NET 3.5 or .NET 4. This means that Syncdocs 7 will not work on Windows 2000, XP or Server 2003.
We will release a separate build for these operating systems, but this will not have the new features of Syncdocs 7, or support for the latest Google features like Team Drive.
How to Update
The upgrade is free and will happen automatically. The old Syncdocs version should ask if you want to update automatically in the next few days.
To update now, right click on the Syncdocs taskbar icon, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> “Check for Updates”.
You can also download the new version and install it over the old one.
The 64 bit and portable (USB memory stick) versions are also updated to version 6.951 and can also be downloaded from http://www.syncdocs.com/download-syncdocs
The portable versions now contain a link to the update files, as portable versions do not auto-update as they could be running from a USB memory stick.
