Hi, I installed syncdocs in i:\syncdocs. I'm starting it in portable mode and I changed the path folder to x:\google drive. But everytime I reboot syncdocs the path change to i\syncdocs\google docs. Can you help me?
syncdocs portable google drive folder location(8 posts) (3 voices)
other info: in the configuration xml the path is correct:
Do you also have a non-portable version of Syncdocs installed? This might be the one that is running at startup after rebooting. After reboot and Syncdocs automatically runs, look in the Preferences menu General tab, and disable "Start with Windows Startup".
If this does not fix the problem, check that the x:\ drive is available at startup.
Hi, thank you for your replay.
No, I disinstalled the non-portable version. Whwn I wrote "reboot" I mean "restart syncdocs".
My steps was:
1. install syncdocs portable.
2. run PortableSyncdocs.cmd
3. configure google account
4. change google drive folder location
5. start to sync (all is ok!)
6. exit syncdocs
7. run PortableSyncdocs.cmd again
8. google drive folder location is now the default i\syncdocs\google docs; but in the configuration xml the path is correct:<SearchPath1>X:\Google Drive\</SearchPath1>
But, is it possible change the google drive folder location in portable mode?
from your help page (http://www.syncdocs.com/2011/08/sync-google-drive-from-a-usb-flash-drive/):
The portable version of Syncdocs stores all your files in its own folder (“My Google Documents”) on the USB stick. This is so that it can be plugged into multiple PCs with different drive letters. If you wish to set the data folder location, then run the non-portable Syncdocs.
Hi Michele, thanks for the step by step list of how to replicate the problem. We'll repeat it, figure out what's wrong and let you know how to fix it.
Thanks! It's a very good software.
For the moment, I found a workaround: change the .cmd file to:
start syncdocs.exe -portable -user firstname.lastname@example.org -syncfolder "X:\Google Drive"
So, creating two or more different .cmd file it's possible using more account with portable version, too ;)
