   Release Notes v 0.56

   We've improved the way Syncdocs works internally. The sync engine core is now better optimized for speed, lower memory and network usage.

   You will see a database update message on your first sync. This will take a few minutes but only happens once, and makes subsequent syncing much faster.

   We've fixed all the serious bugs we could find and a many smaller ones.

   New features
   - Duplicate Google Docs can now be deleted from the Storage Space Used menu.
   - Google file size limits adhered to.
   - Smoother support for multiple PC’s syncing to same Google Docs account.
   - Also improved for users working collaboratively on the same files.
   - Memory usage reduced to a quarter. Maximum number of files supported by the 32bit version is now about 600,000
   - command line option to specify user ("syncdocs.exe -u [email protected]")

   Upgrade instructions:

   As usual your old version should ask if you want to update automatically in the next few days, if you want the fixes now, right click on the Syncdocs taskbar icon, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> “Check for Updates”

   You can also download the new version and install it over the old one.

   Thanks Phil. You guys just keep making a great product even better!

   One note about the "database update" in V.56...

   I updated to .56 last night, it did its database update (14565 entries). After about 10-15 minutes it finished and I got the "All files are up to date" message. I turned off the computer and went to bed.

   This morning I turned on the computer and it's doing the update again.

   Was this supposed to be a one time shot?

   I just saw a new option called "Force file replace if file locked on update", turned off by default. What does it do exactly?

   Hi POB,

   We messed up: the database update happens twice if you upgrade the Syncdocs version, as we stored the new database in the wrong place on first run after upgrade. So right now it only does it twice.

   Its fixed in the next version.

   Hi orderph,

   The "force file..." option forces a delete and replace of locked files on Google. If user A is editing a file online, and his browser crashes or loses network, Google sometimes keeps a zombie lock (412 error) on the file, so no one can update it.

   This "fix" moves the locked file (and all its version history) to the recycle bin and replaces it.
