Hi,
When I share a document in Google Docs I can change the Sharing Settings to Public on the web, Anyone with link, Org, People at Org with link and Private.
My problem is when I select Org (it's the name of the organization of our Google Apps Domain) no one in the organization actually see the document. According to google's support I still need a way to pass the link of the document to each person in the organization.
Maybe you (SyncDocs) can provide a way to share a document with everyone without entering everyone into the share settings?

I'm expecting that if someone put a document with sharing settings of Org inside a shared collection the document will be sync to all the people the collection is shared with them, if it happens to be all the people in the organization then it will be everyone.

The important point is when someone new join our organization I don't want to have to go back to each document and share it with her also. I'm willing to go over my collections and add her to each appropriate collection.

Hi Ido,
Unfortunately the Google Org settings are determined by Google, not by Syncdocs. I agree with you that it would be a useful feature, and also the way I'd expect it to behave. If you look on the Google forums, it is quite a common question.

There is a way to bypass it, but it also affects the default document settings, so might not be what you want. This bypass is:
- Log in to your Google Apps domain as Admin
- Click on "Settings" and then "Google Docs"
- you have 3 options in "Sharing Options" -> "Document visibility" (pasted below)

These are global settings, so might be too wide ranging, though.

Also, have you created groups of users?

Select the default visibility for newly created documents:
x This organization
People at this organization can find and access.
x People at this organization with the link
People at this organization who have the link can access.
x Private
Only people explicitly granted permission can access.

Hi,
I'm using Google Apps Domain free edition which does not support sharing of contacts and by that does not support sharing of groups.
I understand those settings are not yours and it's a problem with google definition of "shared".

I hope that SyncDocs can help overcome this bad definition in some way.
I don't wish to change the default sharing settings because I think it's still true that new document is private by default, both to minimize nose by sharing documents that don't need to be shared and to minimize accidental sharing.
