   Hi,

   I am moving from Dropbox, and just started evaluating Syncdocs.
   One problem that I have is that Syncdocs client uses the actual file path, name, and extnetion also while download is in progress. This makes it impossible to know if the file is has fully donwloaded or not. All other sync utilities and auto downloaders I came across with will either use a temporary path or extension while donwloading and will move or rename the file once download is complete.

   My problem is that I have a script that montiros the folder for incoming files to automate processing and now script process parital files.

   Please advise if there is a setting I can use or any workaround.

   Hi Jonathan.

   Those are useful comments about temporary file names. We might download to a temporary file names in future versions of Syncdocs.

   As I'm not too sure what your script does, it's a bit hard to suggest workarounds:

   Right now, you can run syncdocs with the –OnlyRunSyncOnce command line option, which will download any files and then quit, after which you can execute your script.

   Andrew, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it does not help since I want to start downloading as early as there is new file in gdocs. The script is simple, it will monitor a folder for files with a certain extensions and will copy them to another folder unless they already exist. Any other suggestions?

   Also, off topic, sometimes a file is fully uploaded in syncdocs but does not show in gdocs. Is there any faq I should look at for troubleshooting this problem?

   Regarding the scripting, there's no simple solution. You could watch the file an detect when it hasn't grown in size in the last 5 minutes.

   If the file does not show up in Google Docs, you sometimes need to refresh the browser page to show it. Also items in sub-folders won't show in "Home" in Google, so you'll need to look in "All items".

   If that doesn't show them, Google has a known bug where items sometimes aren't shown. Their workaround is to search for the file.
