Is it possible to setup SyncDocs to basically move my files to Google Drive and NOT keep an offline/local copy? Some files I would like to keep locally. This is how OneDrive under Windows 8 works.

Yes, if you want to move your files online, you can Sync them with Syncdocs. There are two ways of doing this:
1. By selecting folders. Sync the folders you want, and then uncheck them from the Folder selective sync. Then you can delete them locally.
2. In the Sync tab of the Preferences menu, tell Syncdocs to "Upload only" and not to sync deletions. Then upload the files and once that is done, remove them locally.
Note that OneDrive is removing the placeholder sync feature.
