sometimes files from GD are not downloaded. Currently there is a file on GD which I edited yesterday on one PC and I need it now on a second PC. I have a three days old version on that second PC. Usually this works alright. But now, after one normal and several forced syncs, I still have the old file locally and the new one on GD.
SyncDocs has an option to force uploads (which doesn't seem to work either, because I cannot upload the old file). But is there a way to force download a file?

I thought I had found a workaround: Rename the file. I Renamed the local file, and within seconds, the file on GD was renamed, too, and the change date for the file set to the current time. But still: the GD file is the recent file, the content of the local file has not changed. So all that is synced is the filename, not the actual file ...
And now I do have a workaround: Copy the file. That helps for this file. But I do not know which other files are not synced and that will cause trouble later.
Is the file shared to you by others? Perhaps they have revoked your access.
Another thing to look at is, is the problem only on one of the two PCs? It might be that the Syncdocs cache file is corrupted - You can try resetting the cache, which will force a Google refresh. You do this by clicking on the "Reset Cache" button in the Advanced tab in the preferences.

no, not shared. I have not tried the cache reset. Will try next time. Back home I noticed that the non-syncing file was still open on the other PC. So maybe that's why it doesn't sync in the office? I think it should still sync. I was able to rename the file, so it isn't protected. Ideally on sync it should be noticed that there has been a change and a backup created.
Using Selective Folder Sync to have certain folders on my desktop backed up on Google Drive with a scheduled daily sync. Some of the folders are specified as encrypted, and some are not. New files that are added to the desktop folders never appear on Google Drive. Shouldn't they be replicated on Google drive with each daily sync? Using Syncdocs 6.862 with Google Drive under 25% full. I have reset the Syncdocs cache but this doesn't help.Posted 3 months ago #
Sometimes Syncdocs runs as a normal user while Windows Explorer or the app making the files is running as an Administrative user.
It might be that Syncdocs does not have permissions to see some of these file changes made by Administrative users. You can run it as Administrator to give it these permissions. To do this:
a. exit Syncdocs,
b. then right click on the Syncdocs icon and select "Run as Administrator". You can also click on the "Always run Syncdocs as Admin" item in the Syncdocs Start Menu group.
If this does not help, then please email us (at email@example.com) the Syncdocs log which will show more details on the cause of the issue. You can get it by right clicking on the Syncdocs icon, selecting "Preferences", then "Advanced" and then "View Log".
