I have one puter but utilize two distinct-separate physical hd's to which this question applies. Your help to date is much appreciated! Thankyou!
Does syncdocs sync between any two hard drive source file data bases?

Syncdocs will typically only sync the folder you specify.
Folders are normally contained by one drive, so Syncdocs will only sync one drive.
How many drive letters do you have assigned to these drives?
Posted 12 years ago # -
You ask: "How many drive letters do you have assigned to these drives? Thanks,
I assigned no drive letters. All hd preceeding letters were made automatically.Does assigning a drive letter make a difference? As to the principle question, that is?

Another related question: Please inform me whether (once syndocs syncs a my documents folder or individual file to gdocs), is there a way to sync my gdocs back to a Hard drive.
You see, I am having trouble understanding how sync docs syncing itself can be considered a backup if syndocs cannot re-sync both the the same folders & files it first synced up to gdocs back to any given HD and as well as other GDocs folders and files.Pretty basic sync proposition, it seems to me (but I dont know!!!)
Is that what the "MY google documents folder is supposed to deal with?

Hi Diligent,
Syncdocs will sync changes both ways. It syncs based on the file time, so you have the newest file on both Google and locally.
It will sync the folder that you select in the Folder preferences tab.Posted 12 years ago # -
OK phil, thanks for the info!
"Hi Diligent, Syncdocs will sync changes both ways. It syncs based on the file time, so you have the newest file on both Google and locally. It will sync the folder that you select in the Folder preferences tab."
So on one HD ("HD1") I save 10 .odt files. Syndocs moves these 10 files to my Google docs online. At this point I have my orig local .doc files and gdocs online files. I also have the syncdocs "my google docs" on my desktop file too.
OK, so then I disconnect HD1 and then connect my second HD("HD2")which also has the syncdocs propram operating on it. Will syncdocs on HD2 then sync:
"both ways. It syncs based on the file time, so you have the newest file on both Google and locally. It will sync the folder that you select in the Folder preferences tab.
You see what I asking about now? how does syncdocs sync files from Gdocs online to my local folder on HD2? Does syncdocs "My Google Docs" file replace my usual and ordinary "my documents" individual files or what?
Your help guys remains much appreciated!!

I went ahead and tested. I see a "MY goggle docs" ordinary and usual folder within "My documents folder". does this occur once the gdocs folders/files are synced by syncdocs back to my local "my documents file"? Please answer. thanks!!

Hi Diligent,
Do you boot from HD1 or HD2, or is it just a data drive?Posted 12 years ago # -
ANDREW: I boot from either one depending on which one I choose to utilize. I just do a physical plugin of either HD1 or HD2 whenever I fee I I have a need to do so. For instance, if HD1 crashes I hav HD2 ready and available to plugin for its own new reboot. Sorta like two computers with one HD each, but with varied folders/files. Hope you catch what I mean>> meaning syncing between multiple puters (If I am thinking right, that is!)
Posted 12 years ago # -
Andrew: Both HD1 & HD2 are bootable. I boot from HD1 when I want and from HD2 when I want.
While I think syncdocs is syncing between Gdocs and my puter, there seems to be so many new major folders with so many files often duplicated, frankly I am getting lost.Could ya help me out here please!? Thanks, Diligent

So you are using Syncdocs to copy from HD1 to HD2 via Google docs? Is the Google Docs folder ("My Google Docs") in the same place on both PC's? Are the settings on Syncdocs the same?
If so, what is on Google Docs should be put onto both HD1 and HD2 when you plug them in. I hope this helps you?Posted 12 years ago # -
Phil:
(1) Q: "So you are using Syncdocs to copy from HD1 to HD2 via Google docs?"
A: The objective was to have the very same gdocs folders/files in HD1 & HD2 "my documents.
(2) Q: Is the Google Docs folder ("My Google Docs") in the same place on both PC's?
A: Its the same PC within which I use two HD's. I will check as to the place and be back.(3). Q: Are the settings on Syncdocs the same?
A: I will check & be back.Final: Last Input: If so, what is on Google Docs should be put onto both HD1 and HD2 when you plug them in. I hope this helps you?
A: The objective was to have the very same gdocs folders/files in HD1 & HD2 "my documents. See (3). abovePosted 12 years ago # -
I stopped; REASON I do not understand why syncdocs does not automatically sync between one "my docs folder" and anoher!
Why the "H" not (Nicely stated!)

Hi diligent, please send us the error log (described here: http://www.syncdocs.com/forums/topic.php?id=77) from both HD1 and HD2 and we will look into it.
