I am using the newest version -
There are over 2500 files that continually "appear" in my local folder as downloads. I delete them daily (or several times a day) - but instead of deleting them on docs, they just re-download. I cannot even figure out where they are coming from when logged in to my google account. I can search for them individually, but that doesn't help - I cannot find them by browsing. How can I get rid of these? Should they not delete online when deleted in my local folder. Please assist.

Yes, they should delete online when you delete them locally.
There are two possibilities:
1. Someone has shared these to you, and you can't wipe them for some odd permissions reason.
Solution: In Syncdocs Preferences->Sync, unclick "Sync new files shared with me by others"
2. You have multiple copies of these files in Google.
Solution: Right click on the Syncdocs taskbar icon, select the free space (5% of 1G used) menu, and select "Trash duplicates".Let me know if how it works for you.

what is with the spam replies? Anyway, it did not work. They are not shared files and I cleared trash and set to delete duplicates also. But they all re downloaded.
any other ideas? I love this product otherwise.

The spammer's history, even if he quotes Tolstoy.
Are these files in a particular collection on Google?

They were all in the root. I took most of the day and deleted them through google - now, it seems to be working. I had hoped to be able to work from both ends - maybe my preferences are not correct.

Syncdocs should mirror all deletes unless set not to in Preferences -> Sync -> "sync renames and deletions".
Google seems to be having some issues related to deletes:

My local deletes didn't work until I ran syncdocs as administrator. Windows 7 if that makes any difference.

Here it goes:
- I have 6 file locally, I sync them. The alle appear in gDocs.
So far so good.
- Locally rename one file and delete 3 of them. I sync.
So far NO good. Cause I see 7 files. The former 6 once plus the renamed one as a copy with a different name.I ran the app as an Admin. I used whipe trash und trash duplicates from the app.
I had "sync renames and deletions on" and I only use 101 of my sync quota of 250.
I have plenty of space available on gDocs and my account supports the sync of any filetype. And I have no idea why this stuff isn't working.
Please advice.Posted 7 years ago # -
Either Syncdocs it not seeing file system changes, or it is not talking to Google.
So I can narrow down where things are going wrong, can you tell me if the deletions and renames sync if you click on the "Force Sync Now" menu item from the Syncdocs taskbar menu.

When I wrote "I sync them" or "I sync" I meant "I manually synced" via a click on the "Sync Status" (???) Text. I saw the dialog that counted (???) 1000 2000 ... (whatever that means) and the dialog ended w/o any errors.
I am currently not on the PC with the app. So I write this from the memory. So statements marked with (???) might sound a little bit different, but will get the point. :)
I suppose what I did was a "Forced Sync"?

Please try again - Google had some problems in the last 24 hours, but they are fixed now.
If it doesn't work, Syncdocs may have cached bad data from Google during the outage. You can clear the cache by:
1. Clicking Syncdocs "Preferences" menu item
2. On the "Advanced" tab, click on "Default Settings". This will let you reset file cache values.Posted 7 years ago #
