I use a LaTeX editor WinEdt. When I edit a *.tex file and then save it
the editor saves the old version under *.tex.bak filename. When I then make
a sync (I use manual sync) the *.bak file is uploaded to google, but it does not
replace the old file, rather then make another file with the same file name.
So the google drive folder becomes populated with *.bak files with the same
names but different dates.
Also sometimes, upon syncing syncdocs downloads an older *.bak file instead
of uploading the new one.

You might want to tell Syncdocs to ignore the *.tex.bak file by adding .bak to the ExtensionsToIgnore setting.
Well, this could be a transient solution.
