Help on Google Drive sync

   So I have a problem. I have 2 computers syncing to Google drive.

   I delete files from Computer 1, it syncs the changes to google drive.

   Computer 2 says hey lets upload the files again.

   Computer 1 says neat new files and lets download them again.

   Anyone have any ideas what I can try to stop this cycle?

   Check the Syncdocs settings. In the Syncdocs Preferences menu in the Sync tab, check that the item "Sync renames and deletions (do a full sync)" is still checked on computer 2.

   The setting is checked on both computers.

   Basically after more testing, if I delete anything from Google drive, or either of the computers. It will be uploaded from either of the computers and replicated to the others.

   Any ideas on what I can try? I am testing out turning them to manual mode and see if that makes a difference.

   This is strange. Are you the only user with access to these files - have you perhaps shared them to someone else?

   I do have exactly the same problem! When I delete a file at the Website of Google Drive it’s not deleted locally but renaming it works!

   What does 'Mirror Google read-only user permissions locally' in the 'Files' tab mean?

   Let me explain:

   At home I have the regular Google Drive App installed which works properly. At work I’m using Syncdocs because I do not have admin rights.

   If a file was deleted at home, it’ll be also deleted on Google Drive. If I sync my account at work with Syncdocs, it uploads the file again instead of deleting it locally. If I then sync my PC at home with Google Drive it downloads the file again. I’m in other words not able to delete files on my PC at home. If I delete the files at work, everything works fine.

   This happens with all files no matter where they are stored (Root, subfolders, etc.) or if they are shared or not. At work I’m running Win 7 SP1 64-Bit.

   I really like the app and are of course willing to pay for it but unless the above mentioned problem isn’t solved it’s useless to me. What can I do?

   Does this happen with all files? One difference between Google's app and Syncdocs is that Syncdocs by default also syncs shared files. Are these files that you try to delete shared to by other?

   Hi Phil and thanks for your answer! The files I try to delete are NOT shared. It also happens even when I disable to synchronize shared files. Any idea?!

    Hi Rudi, one possibility is that you have multiple files with the same name on Google's server (Google allows this, Windows doesn't). When you delete it, it is deleted, but then the other file with the same name gets downloaded.

    Sorry, but I don't think that's the point. There are for sure - at least not visible - no multiple files with the same name on Google's server. The App deletes the file, then looks at the local folder, recognizes that this file is not online and uploads the exact same file again. I agree what burdsjm@gmail.com wrote in his first post.

    I had to modify my sync times to fix the issue. I have one computer running on always running sync and then I have one computer that only syncs once a day. The issue seem to be resolved.

    You might want to check the clocks on both computers. It may be that one is running a little fast or slow.
    Syncdocs tries to do a time-sync on startup, but this needs Admin permissions and is not always available.
