Oh yes!!! I joined the forum just to post a request for a "synced folder" flag. Is it on the to-do list?

Let me say that I am THRILLED to have discovered this program today. In one fell swoop I abandoned the older, clunkier, sync set up I was using in favor of this amazing, elegant one. The folder flag seems like an oversite-- back when SyncDocs worked more like DropBox, it wasn't necessary, but if a user is selectively syncing folders, as I am, it's not so easy to remember which ones are synced. Potential for chaos, if one isn't careful.

Love this product. LOVE it. :) :) :)

A extremely useful feature found on SugarSync and the Old Windows Live Mesh was the ability to simply right click on any folder and the options to select "sync" or "share". Click sync and it would sync to the cloud. The folder Icon would change to Blue (Mesh) or Green Dot on the folder Icon (SugarSync)Super easy and would be essential to making your product even better. I really don't like to have to make a master sync folder i.e. Gdocs or what ever. it makes it so easy to put stuff in the cloud and to set up a new computer. Just install Syncdocs and use selective sync feature you just added to set up a new computer I hope to see these features soon.

although I know how adding features drags out development, it would be nice to be able to select local folders (although to do so you probably would have to support nested folders x levels deep).

Also as you would be able to deselect Google folders *and* local folders, it might get confusing unless it had a revamped dialog, and inventoried all the folders *before* sync'ing began.

Hi Kevin,
You're right, it is confusing when upload only is selected. We'll grey it out in the next version. Or perhaps also let local folders be selected, which makes the selective feature more useful?

So its a feature? I hadn't really thought of it that way. I was using it more as a "backup" solution, pointing it to an existing folder and only checking "Upload local files to Google", much like you would with Picasa.

Using it that way, I guess, then you should gray out the "Selective Folder Sync" section when only "Upload local files to Google" is selected, as otherwise it sends a confusing message.

You are correct, Selective folder sync selects the Google folders to sync, not the local ones.

If you don't want a local folder synced, it is best not to put it into the "My Google Docs" folder.

As the only way I can uncheck a folder is to wait until it is backed up, it creates issues for whenever I don't want it sync'd (like the subfolder with all my picasa photos)

1. Start sync'ing
2. notice that it is sync'ing a folder you want to ignore
3. go into preferences and uncheck it.
4. Go into Google docs and move it in the trash
5. after syncdocs gets going again, watch it reappear.
